Poole Councillor, Mark Howell launched the 'Poole People' party earlier this week, asking people of the town how it could be improved - through the use of a leaflet made in 5 minutes in Publisher, with a map of the town drawn in MS Paint.
He collated the responses, and after throwing them all in the bin due to the number of explosives required to carry out the plan, made a list of his own, using Word Art to jazz it up.
"Unfortunately, the main ideas residents could come up involved blowing up Baiter Park and the Waterloo estates. So instead, I produce this wonderful charter. See, there's even a ClipArt picture of a pirate."
The main driving forces behind the charter aim to turn Poole back into a family seaside holiday resort. Councillor Howell has been looking at other resorts, such as Scarborough and Blackpool and has put together a plan to bring Poole up to the same level.
Ideas in the plan include building a pier, and then closing it for safety reasons; adding several new crap fish and chip restaurants; some tired looking lights along the sea front; and the jewel in the crown of the plan, making it rain a little bit more.
"That's a true English seaside resort," said the councillor via email from his AOL account.
