Bournemouth Council to Recycle Everything it Can

BOURNEMOUTH COUNCIL announced that it is aiming to be in the top ten councils for recycling. It believes that a new idea to recycle everything it possibly can will help it achieve this.
Council spokesman Peter Osborne outlined their ideas for the next few years. "We plan to recycle absolutely everything. As we speak, I am reusing my 2007 diary for appointments. I've also been wearing the same suit every day for the last month."

"This is a greatly exciting time to be in the council, and we have lots of plans going forward. We're pleased to announce that we're going to give Bournemouth a new 3D cinema in a brand new building on the Pier Approach, and bring great wealth into the town with a casino on the Winter Gardens site. We will also give transport users more choice and competition by putting the bus company out to private tender."

Bournemouth residents greeted the annoucement with mixed feelings. Graham Flynn, who works at RIAS with half the town, was ambivalent about Osborne's words. "On the one hand, we will be saving an awful lot of money and time. And everyone likes recycling. But on the other hand, I have this niggling feeling that a giant cinema on the Pier Approach won't be a good idea."

But Osborne addressed these concerns with a reassurance that they are prepared for such eventualities. "When things don't go according to plan, we have organised a recycled list of excuses to give to the public - which means we'll save time on thinking up new ones."

The plan gets underway in earnest this Spring, when the council will be reopening the swimming pool at the BIC, ready for its closure later in the year.
